You may remember our other prototype bumper we were working on.

Well, along came this Nismo front bumper which needed some repair, also requiring a LOT less work than the other bumper. This would also match the rest of the kit on the car too.

Stripped all the lights from the bumper

First off, we needed some Fibreglass...

We started off by drilling holes at the end of the cracks on the bumper. The theory behind this is to stop the cracks spreading.

Cut 2 small aluminium plates.

Screwed them in place over the cracks. You might ask, why not just use more fibreglass and not these plates.

Our logic is simple. If you notice where the damage is on the bumper. The most likely time we could damage it again is going to be driving the car on and off the trailer, as these cracks are where the trailer ramps would touch. The additional strength is always a good thing. We will be attaching a lower chin / front splitter to the bumper, so need it to be as strong as possible

Fibreglass at the ready.

After making a lot of mess, we applied the first lot of fibrglass. Lets just say, its definately a good idea to wear the gloves supplied in the kit !!!

Huge thanks to Alex Smith for teaching the art of fibrglassing.
