Certainly a Very Busy weekend. Under 2 weeks now until we take the car out for the first time this year to Oulton Park on 11th November for some testing.

First thing we needed to do was strip down and repaint the spoiler uprights. There was some corrosion to remove.

The way the spoiler was previously mounted, was starting to leave marks on the bootlid. As we will be using the spoiler to generate downforce, seemed to be a good idea to try and spread the load.

We cut some 2mm Aluminium

Sprayed it in the same black at the uprights

To create some form of water tight seal, the 4 squares to the right, are actually foam roller drawer inserts we have spare

Armed with high tensile nuts, washers and bolts, and some Mocal oil cooler mounting brackets

Done ... :o)

Next, all of the electrics were wired back into the boot.

We decided to change the rear bulbs for LED versions. These bulbs are 36 LED dual lamps (Lights and also brake lights)

The light on the right is the new LED version. It is difficult in the photo to see the difference, but the LED versions are a much deeper red, and also fill the light much better.

There was no other reason than personal preference.

Next, off with the old and tatty sticker, which took a long time with the heat gun and a razor blade !!

Some time and a lot of polish later,,,

Bolt the rear Skyline panel back in, and Done..

The rear bumper, you may notice is a genuine Nismo, which we liked mainly as it follows the subtle lines of the Skyline, plus it sits 80mm lower all round than the standard item. This will help when we attach the rear diffuser...

Next, to rebuild the front end of the car, spray the rest of the interior, fit the seats, reposition the exhaust, and a final spanner check....

At some point in the new year the car will go in for paint. The new panels going on don't all match colourwise.... Project Frankenstein Moff springs to mind !!
